ABOUT

Ilya Rabinovich (b. in Kisheniev Moldova, U.S.S.R, 1965) is a typological photographer. He immigrated with his family to Israel in 1973, where he received his BFA in photography from Bezalel Art and Design Academy, Jerusalem, in 1994.


He was a participant in the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam years 1998-1999, and lives since 2000 in Amsterdam. Since 2008, he is focusing on the contextual and photographic research of Ethnography and History museums, in his Museutopia project. Its first part was photographed in in Moldova and the current part concentrates on Israeli Ethnography museums and wings. 
 

The website presents Rabinovich’s artistic projects, which are exhibited internationally in museums, galleries, and art centers since 1994.

Since his graduation and parallel to his artistic practice, Rabinovich also works as a commissioned photographer, specializing in the documentation of the art field.
