Ilya Rabinovich’s series of photographs delve into the idealized founding vision of Tel Aviv, Israel, by means of exploring the city’s urban landscape during 1996-97.

The photographs were an attempt to form a lexicon of sorts, exploring the various styles, and the makeshift character, in which architecture functions to create the aspirational promise of a Western European city on the sand, a vision whose cracks become apparent through age and decay.
